Holding you through the sacred becoming—before, during, and after birth.
Shawn Koyano (she/her), LSWAIC, MSW, M.Ed.
Licensed Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker (License #SC61632814 ) I identify as a Black, buddhist, queer, femme woman, mother, partner, survivor, abolitionist, and advocate for survivors and families seeking community, belonging, and healing from violent systems. My work is centered and grounded in Black queer feminist radical care, abolition, and dreaming of possibilities for individuals and families to be safe and whole. I have personal experience with difficulties throughout the perinatal stage including infertility, pregnancy loss, and birth trauma.
I hold space where you will feel seen, understood, and supported in our work together. My approach is steadfast, grounded in care, compassion, and the ability to hold difficult conversations and emotions. I offer a space where all parts of you are welcome, and healing can unfold naturally.
I participate in advocacy around family policing, survivors of sexual assault (child/adult), sexual liberation, and abolition healing work. I am a core member of Mandatory Reporting is Not Neutral (MRiNN), Collective Justice, API Chaya’s Queer Network Program, and an advisory board member for Heal Sweet Home.
